Marcus Yang
Mr. Marcus Yang is an advisor for SUM Venture Partners and a member of Band of Angels, Silicon Valley’s first high-tech funding organization. Mr. Yang’s investment areas include semiconductor chipset design, biometric technology, SaaS, etc., focusing on business models that generate recurring service revenue. Mr. Yang was the 2017 Taiwan’s Most Outstanding Entrepreneur Award winner and served on Taiwan’s National Data Security Review Committee in 2017. He has been honored by Taiwan Presidents 6 times from 2015 to 2020 for his contribution to advanced technology achievements. Mr. Yang is a successful entrepreneur. He was President at CEO at MStar Semiconductor USA. MStar went public and was valued at $6B in 2010. MStar is the world’s number-one TV and LCD monitor chipset design company, with a global market share of over 60%. Mr. Yang was a founder at KeyStone Semiconductor to lead the company in commercializing the first single-chip FM/DAB/DAB+ receivers to revolutionize today’s digital broadcasting technology. He was instrumental in developing smart home biometrics and cloud computing technologies at Amaryllo. Mr. Yang received BSEE from UCLA, majoring in Electrical Engineering, and MSEE from UC Berkeley, majoring in wireless communication chipset design. He enjoys technology innovation and has filed over 100 patents worldwide.
