Ely has led the global HR function for iconic companies in diverse industries, including beauty (Revlon), consumer products (consumer division of Pfizer), specialty chemicals (Ashland) and semiconductor equipment (KLA-Tencor). During his career, Ely served as a member of the executive teams of startups to Fortune 100 companies, publicly traded (Pfizer), privately held (International Specialty Products) and private equity held companies (Supresta, CEI). His diverse experience and business orientation has allowed him to quickly understand and address the organizational needs and ensure the achievement of strategic and business goals. Most recently, Ely served as the EVP , Chief Human Resources Officer at Revlon where he developed and executed global HR strategies, led a global transformation and guided the company through the successful exit from Chapter 11. At Ashland, Ely led the acquisition and divestiture of several business units, including the integration of a $2B acquisition, and spearheaded global organizational and culture design initiatives. During his career, Ely has built a reputation as a valued and trusted counsel to CEOs, management teams and employees. He is appreciated for his thoughtful and collaborative approach to resolving complex organizational issues. Having worked in various industries and different size organizations, Ely is adept at creating human capital practices and cultures that address the unique needs of the company and drive business performance. He is particularly experienced at leading companies undergoing transformational change due to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and restructuring. Ely holds a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University, an M.S. from Rutgers University in Management and Labor Relations, and completed the Executive Leadership Program at Harvard University.
